The activities in this resource pack should allow students to:
• Identify environmental factors that limit the rate of photosynthesis
• Identify and explain suitable sampling techniques to collect data in the field
• Plan and carry out an investigation to find the dry mass of plant samples
• Evaluate data relating to common agricultural practices used to overcome the effect of limiting factors
• Use field data to calculate percentage change in yield
• Understand the role of grassland legumes in the nitrogen cycle and reducing fertiliser use on farm
• Apply knowledge of anaerobic fermentation to understand the biochemistry of silage making
• Understand how diversity of plant species can benefit agricultural livestock and the environment
