Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB)

We are committed to increasing children’s understanding of where and how their food is grown, reared and produced. We are working in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation to support teachers with a comprehensive programme of training and resources.

Our aim is to:

  • Raise awareness of the nutritional value of food produced by AHDB sectors within a healthy balanced diet.
  • Sustain and further develop a trusted and positive image of UK agriculture and horticulture.
  • Increase awareness of how food is grown, reared and produced, including processing.
  • Support the development of basic meal and food preparation skills in line with national competencies

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is a statutory levy board. We are funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain. We are an independent, evidence based organisation. Our purpose is to make our agriculture and horticulture industries more competitive and sustainable through factual, evidence-based advice, information and activity:
