While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged. A 310 acre, family owned arable farm with 25 acres of permanent grassland on which there are the remains of an Augustian Abbey dating from 1150 AD. This area is scheduled by English Heritage. The farm also runs a business manufacturing and retailing animal feed. Overall Manor Farm is an excellent example of integrated farm management with a sound crop rotation and a strong commitment to the environment, with many new hedgerows being planted and ponds being created and renovated.
