Bringing the curriculum to life, Barleylands is an excellent venue for school and group visits. We believe we are experts in our field at teaching people of all ages about food farming and the countryside..
We encourage children to explore how their food choices impact on their health, as well as that of the planet and to take the time to discover the pleasure of enjoying real food. Cooking is a life skill and at Barleylands, children have the opportunity to cook a snack from scratch.
We cater for all group sizes from a single year to the whole school, and offer a variety of workshops to fit your curriculum needs and abilities of your group. See growing crops, plant seeds in our polytunnel, explore our farming museum and cook from scratch in our kitchen/classrooms. We have a wonderful selection of livestock to learn about, and we are recognised as an approved Rare Breeds Farm Park by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST).
We have several themed days for schools and groups to choose, and love to create bespoke days for schools, and offer farmer tours for small groups.
