Brimham Rocks Adventure Farm

Brimham Rocks Adventure Farm

We offer a quite a unique experience, we are a working dales farm situated just minutes away from world famous Brimham Rocks in stunning Nidderdale. We also offer a fully mobile farm option too. We invite schools on to farm to see, feel and hear first hand the daily goings on a working farm , we also go into schools with our large selection of miniature animals & birds, giving children and young adults a fabulous insight into all the things they might find on modern day livestock farms. We allow the children to get very close to the animals and interact in lots of ways such as bottle feeding the animals, hatching chicks and making butter having collected the milk from the goats along with other activities. We have had a great success with the way we operate, as it makes it easier for the school to have 'field projects' in the safety of school grounds for the lower KS groups but we can offer all the essential experience of a day out off school . We have bespoke worksheets which are optional designed with all ages and capabilities in mind.
Recently we have been required to help with particular sections of the curriculum such as English, were pupils are studying a book in which a number of farm animals were frequently mentioned. The visit from us helped the children to understand the friendship bonds formed between animals they had read about in the story. We like to bring the environment into the workshops so will often refer to the natural environment the animals would live in, which is supported by photographs or the surrounding landscapes.
