At A Touch of the Wild we believe strongly in valuable learning in the natural environment for children and young people. Offering a wide variety of sessions suitable for nursery to university aged pupils, we do not work exclusively with mainstream schools.
We design our sessions to match the learning outcomes in the new National Curriculum. All our sessions have a cross-curricular approach through hands on games and activities, which are tailored to suit the educational needs of your group. We aim to give pupils opportunities to work scientifically and creatively in areas that are difficult to create in the school environment.
A visit to the forest will be an exciting cross-curricular experience for children. Learning in the outdoors provides the ideal opportunity for children to increase knowledge across a range of subjects and to gain self-confidence through achieving practical tasks, most of which don’t require pencil and paper.
A Touch of the Wild can provide visits to groups throughout the year including schools, nurseries, colleges, scout and guides groups of all ages, language students, church groups, foster parent groups – in fact any group that would like to connect children or adults with the outdoors. We can also come to your school or setting to deliver a vast array of educational sessions.
