Townings Farm is a typical mixed farm in the Low Weald comprising of a dairy herd, beef cattle, sheep and arable fields. The farm borders Chailey Commons, which is lowland heath with SSSI status where we use our Hebridean Sheep for conservation grazing. We joined the Stewardship Scheme in 2004 and have undertaken to enhance the typical landscape of the Low Weald by planting over 900m of hedgerow across the farm, creating and restoring ponds and scrapes.
