Simpson Barton is situated near the market town of Holsworthy. As well as the Educational Access element of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme the farm also has permissive access provided as part of the Scheme. There is a culm grassland field which is full of wetland grasses and wild flowers. There are wildlife hides from which wildlife can be watched. Also part of the Scheme is the restoration of a traditional orchard and hedgerows. There are a number of large fishing lakes which are part of the farm diversification.
