The Weardale Outdoor Centre is based on a small family Estate and offers a unique opportunity to study renewable energy production on a farm case study. The centre has a wind turbine, solar thermal panels and a biomiass furnace. The DEFRA funded centre has two lecture rooms, a dining lobby and an IT suite. It also has a private tent site for schools and other clients. In addition to the centre, you get unlimited access across the varied 400 acres and can study a range of environments from woodland to water.
