Dungeness’ variety of life and unique landscape make it an ideal learning environment. The shingle peninsula is the largest geographical feature of its kind in Europe and it is an area famous for its rich variety of animal and plant life. There is wildlife to be seen in all seasons, from migrating birds in the spring, ponds teeming with water life and amazing plants in summer, autumnal minibeasts or flooded pits covered with ducks, swans and geese in the winter. Our minibeast areas, teaching pond, classroom and wildlife hides all make Dungeness a safe and engaging environment in which to get close to wildlife.
