At Stansfeld there are 14 acres of secure woodland within the grounds which the students are able to explore in their free time or are integrated into their studies, for activities such as Bird Watching, Ancient Technology, Orienteering, Woodland Ecology. Within the grounds there are three ponds which are home to a diverse number of species, including the endangered Greater Creasted Newt.
