Rosliston Forestry Centre

Rosliston Forestry Centre
Part of the National Forest, Rosliston Forestry Centre provides a very satisfying day out for the whole family. Within its 154 acres some 120,000 trees were planted between 1994 and 1996, creating a young woodland. Visitors can follow one of the waymarked walks looking out for the varied wildlife that includes kestrels, owls, kingfishers, skylarks, lapwings and buntings. You can watch them feeding from the purpose-built wildlife hide and, if you're lucky, spot a vole or rabbit. Our young woodland site with meadows, ponds, fishing lake and play areas offers the opportunity to enjoy a range of pastimes and activities, many of them free of charge! From quiet places to enjoy the countryside and its bird and wildlife, through a range of outdoor activities and family fun facilities to a packed programme of events, there is something for everyone. Accommodation, talks, workshops, parties, guided walks, meetings and school visits are all available too.
