While efficiently producing wholesome food, a philosophy called Integrated Farm Management (IFM), is used to take great care of the natural environment. IFM seeks to harmonise nature and the science of food production, ensuring pollution is minimised, the landscape is enhanced and wildlife habitats that produce bio-diversity are encouraged.
A family run, exotic vegetable business which combines modern and traditional production methods with high environmental standards. Established in the 1950s, the business now tenants 90 acres, all within the M25 - IFM is successfully put into practice under these challenging conditions. Environmental sensitivity is balanced with the demands of growing healthy, fresh produce for specialised markets, on sensitive land where gravel is extracted. Soil is managed carefully, employment provided for local people and a wonderful haven for wildlife has been created.
