Plastic is a versatile material used in the horticulture industry, such as tree guards, plants pots, and mulch film. However, these plastics can escape into the environment, getting into our soil, rivers and eventually our sea!
This resource is the second part of a series of three looking at sources and impacts of plastic pollution as well as possible solutions and good waste management practice. Each lesson contains a powerpoint with activities included.

- Describe how plastics are used in the horticulture industry
- Discuss the environmental impacts of using mulch film and tree guards
- Outline possible pathways of plastic pollution from the horticulture industry
