Wye National Nature Reserve’s stunning views over its chalk grassland and steep coombes were carved from melting snow at the end of the last Ice Age. Today its orchid-rich grasslands and beech and yew woodland support several rare flowers such as early spider orchids and scarce butterfly species such as the chalk-hill blue.
