The Village was created over 40 years ago to educate talented, but highly disadvantaged children from nine countries. Through our work, we aim to change attitudes and behaviour that are not sustainable. By looking at more appropriate or renewable technologies and lifestyles, we can reduce pollution, enhance the environment, improve the quality of life and help to reduce global warming and climate change.
Our workshops concentrate on the wider issues of global citizenship and environmental responsibility and through them participants will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need to become informed and responsible citizens. This will provide opportunities to engage in broader political, social, economic, cultural and environmental issues and dilemmas that we all face in our lives.
