The holding at Harts Barn Farm consists of permanent pasture with some areas of traditional orchard and a small amount of arable land. The grassland is extensively managed with beef and sheep grazing. A lot of the land is almost too steep to drive on, so very little fertilizer or manure has ever been applied. Some of the grassland has not been ploughed since WWII.
Harts Barn has a successful craft centre and workshops, and is developing a cookery school where groups will be able to use meat, fruit and vegetables from the farm, and learn about countryside and wildlife management.
