Farming Fortnight is coming up on 3rd - 14th June and will see hundreds of schools take part in a two-week spotlight on farming and food production, use these fantastic resources to help your learners find out more!
Ages 4 - 6
- Check out all the fabulous resources produced by LEAF Education designed to be used during every day throughout Farming Fortnight.
- Use this A Year in Farming Calendar to begin to learn about British seasonal produce, and make links between British food production, farming, and the environment within your school topics and curriculum.
- You can also find out more about British farming and ‘farming with nature’ by visiting a host farmer on Open Farm Sunday - 9th June 2024.
Ages 7 - 11
- Order your free Why Farming Matters Resource pack which has an amazing range of activities linked to the curriculum to encourage pupils to start investigating why farming matters.
- AHDB has produced these Farming Food For You posters to show life on the farm – how animals are reared and cared for, and how crops are grown and harvested. The six posters explore different farming sectors – dairy, beef, sheep, potatoes, cereals and pork.

Ages 11 - 16
- Farmers play an important role by using nature to mitigate climate change. This Delivering Nature Based Farming Solutions booklet outlines a number of case studies of farmers and the strategies they are using to help meet net zero.
- AHDB has a range of resources on Food A fact of Life that explains Dairy Farming & Cheese Production in more detail and how it is then processed into cheese with posters, videos, PowerPoint presentation and information sheets to download for the classroom or event.
